When I think of all the times that I have experienced my greatest personal growth, it’s when I allowed myself to be naked. My greatest transformations came from times of darkness, when I allowed myself to be exposed for exactly who I was at that place in time. It’s in these valleys that we need to embrace the opportunity to press inward and self examine. Darkness isn’t always a bad thing, and it is often out of our control. What we do during these times shapes who we become. Ernest Hemingway said it best when he stated: “There is no nobility in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.” This is where we should fix our eyes.
